Today was the day that Chereen was waiting for, honestly I think she was more excited about Disneyland than any other part of our trip, but unfortunately a few things conspired to makes this slightly disappointing from our point of view.
Firstly, there was a distinct lack of rides. I think there were 4 adult rides, and that was it, unless you paid for the two park pass, and there were only 4 more in the Disney Studios park. And only one of them was really really good, the others, were pretty standard really. The lines were all insane too. For some of the bigger rides they had a fast pass system where you could go and get a free ticket, which allowed you to jump into a smaller line, usually an hour or two later. That made it a bit bearable, but there was still an occasion where we lined up for 90 minutes for a stupid train ride around the park which you couldn’t even really see much from.
Still, it was Disneyland, and we had a good time, but it just seemed to be like everything else in Paris – good, but slightly below expectations.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom ride.
Mickey! Chereen did well to get this show, as Mickey was almost on the run, he had done his meet and greet and now it was time to get out of there, and there was a huge contingent of papparazi (aka parents with kids in tow) following him trying to get a happy snap.
Inside the “its a small world” ride. Was actually quite cute.
An example of the huge lineups that we had on the day. Lines are to be expected, but this was another level again.
Part of the parade at the end of the day. Once again quite decent but slightly disappointing, only went for 15 minutes or so, and we had to wait over an hour to get a decent vantage point.
